HOW DOES ONE KNOW THEIR RANKING?

If a referee wants to know their ranking, please contact the assignor. The assignor will let you know your Referee and then AR ranking. They are usually different as most referee's experience grow faster as an AR.

Example: Your ranking is a 300/225.

You can center up to: 300 U15, U16G U13, U14 U13 You can AR up to: 225 U19G U15 U14,U15G

WHAT DO THE LEVELS OF GAMES MEAN?

Game Levels are now "Recreation", "Comp" and "Premier". Over the last 1-2 years the playing programs that the league participates in as well as how those programs have changed required us to rethink how we ranking the games and thus the pay and referee rankings. In the recent years there have been 5 key different groups of teams: U9-U14 Recreation, U9-U14 RecPlus (sometimes call "Copper"), U16-U19 Recreation "Traveling House", U9-U19 Division 3/CYSA & NorCal "Bronze"; as well as U9-U19 Division 1/NorCal "Gold" and "Silver". The Division numbers originated through CYSA. More and more, the league is choosing to play in NorCal playing programs than in CYSA, but not 100%. So, we are now putting:

We are assigned solo centers only (no ARs or club lines) on the U09-U10 recreational games. These games required an experienced center that can manage the spectators and coaches on these teams well as they learn the rules themselves as well as how best to conduct themselves at their child's game. Please make sure to be helpful in your feedback to the adults but be firm that they do not interfere with the real reason everyone is at the field...so those young children can learn the game while they practice it. Referees must be at least a 500 center for these games.

CAN ONE DO A GAME OUTSIDE OF THEIR RANKING?

The Assignor may override the set rankings when a referee is ready to try a game above their current rankings to grow. Such games would have more experienced referees and/or mentors also assigned to the game for support and feedback in this learning opportunity.

HOW CAN A REFEREE RANKING CHANGE?

LRA is a strong supporter that every referee strive to be the best referee that person is capable of being. We provide mentoring, continuous feedback, and work with a referee's personal goals and realistic level growth. Let us know where you want to head and we will support you as much as we can. Contact the Mentor Coordinator or Assignor on how we can support you.

A referee's ranking will change over time as one's own skills and experience grow at their own pace.

WHAT DO THE MENTOR RANKING COVER?

LRA takes mentoring and referee grow seriously. We make sure we have enough trained mentors above the normal feedback every referee should give and get. These special people are ranked with a Mentor ranking as their own mentoring skills grow, just like officiating on the field.

If you are interested in becoming and LRA Mentor or getting some mentoring yourself, contact the LRA Mentor Coordinator.
